Both LCC itself and Lewisham Cyclists’, it’s very own borough group in Lewisham, will be holding their AGM’s this autumn.
LCC’s AGM is scheduled for a whole Saturday, the 11th October. Details here
This year, the afternoon session includes a campaigners’ awards section as well as the useful workshop session. The campaigners’ awards are designed to give ordinary members the chance to nominate activities and individuals
they think are good examples of the work that goes on at the grass roots of the organisation.
Just as important, the following Wednesday 15th October at 7pm and only taking a couple of hours of your time, is Lewisham Cyclists very own AGM.
It will be held in the Jubilee Room, part of the St Laurence Centre, St Laurence’s Church, Bromley Rd Catford, just a couple of minutes walk from Catford Town Centre. At this meeting, we will have a couple of guests. Christian Wolmar, a London mayoral candidate hopeful and well known transport commentator will be there to lead a discussion on recognising cycling as an integral and important part of London’s transport network. Also, Nick Harvey, Lewisham’s Cycling Programmes Manager, will be there. If people have queries, questions about cycling in Lewisham, send them to us as soon as possible and Nick will do his best to answer them at the meeting.
The other business of the meeting is to elect a new committee. There are 3 main officers on the committee, the Coordinator, Secretary and Treasurer. If anyone wishes to stand for these posts, you need a Lewisham LCC member to nominate and second you. Contact us on lewishamcyclists@gmail.com with these names and contact details for each and attend the meeting. Elections for contested positions will take place at the end of the meeting.
