Lewisham Cyclists and Covid

  • by

Sadly we have cancelled all our rides, community bike workshops and Dr Bikes till further notice. Stay hopeful, stay safe, follow government guidelines about staying home, self isolating and maintaining social distance and the sooner we’ll be riding together again.

As bike shops are still allowed to trade, although our community work is closed for the duration, we are still allowed to offer limited help. We have supplied a couple of our loan bikes already for key worker use and have a couple left. We can deliver these within guidelines if someone needs them. They are serviced by our qualified mechanics and washed with soap and hot water plus isopropyl alcohol.

We are also offering key workers a limited bike repair service. Just contact us and one of our qualified mechanics will come to you. You will need an outside space where you can leave your bike for us to check at safe social distance. We wash and spray bike after checking. Simple repairs only available. Free service but donations welcome. Anyone on key worker list can request our repair help.

Also, anyone, key worker or not, can still contact us for remote mechanical help and any cycling related advice via our email address or Facebook group. lewishamcyclists@gmail.com

Our cargotrike has also been helping self isolated individuals living alone, delivering food. We have made it, plus a rider available to the official Lewisham Council volunteer support services.

So, tricky times, but we are still here and still active. If you need us, get in touch. If we can support you in your cycling needs within the government guidelines, we will.

The Lewisham Cyclists cargotrike loaded with a batch of delicious hot meals from Catford Fridge and Lewisham Irish Centre. Partnering with Wheels for Wellbeing workers and volunteers to deliver food to and maintain social with Self isolated and shielded elders all over Lewisham.
