The more people respond, the better.“We are extremely pleased to see the reinstatement of the green light phase dedicated solely to traffic emerging from Deal’s Gateway. This is something we have been campaigning for ever since it was removed some years ago now. We know from our members’ daily experiences, how dangerous this junction was when crossing from Deals to Greenwich High Rd while sharing the green light with traffic turning right from the High Rd on to the A2. Restoring that dedicated green means that this will now be a safe junction again.
We do have some concerns about the road layout on the A2, where it seems, from looking at the plans, that the introduction of a right turn holding area for traffic turning from the A2 into Deal’s Gateway, has created a pinch point for anyone cycling east or west along the A2. It is hard to make an accurate judgement, without any measurements, but a visual appraisal of the plans seems to indicate that this is a possibility. We would welcome the chance to discuss this with TfL at some point, before implementation.”
