We made it clear at the start of the meeting that we believed that the new road design was not fit for purpose in the 21st Century and inherently dangerous for cyclists and that we would continue to campaign for it to be replaced with a non-conflicting ‘safer junctions’ style layout like this (previously sent to the meeting attendees):

The TfL and Muse representatives made it clear from their side that they weren’t there to discuss alternative designs. Also stating that there was very little budget remaining for remedial works on the current layout. Therefore they were only prepared to discuss modest changes and to look at issues that may fail the independent safety audit that will take place soon. They also said that they expected the road layout to be completed and ‘signed’ off early in the New Year.
This is a summary of the detailed points that were discussed at the meeting:

We shall of course be continuing to actively campaign on this issue.
